    Pacific Partnership 2009

    CAPT James Ludington, P.E., is currently the USPHS Officer in Charge (OIC) on the Pacific Partnership 2009 mission in the  South Pacific.  The Pacific Partnership 2009 is the fourth in a series of U.S. Naval Pacific Fleet humanitarian and civil assistance missions.  This year Pacific Partnership will travel to Oceania, including Kiribati, Republic of the Marshall Islands, Samoa, Solomon Islands and Tonga. The Military Sealift Command dry cargo/ammunition ship USNS Richard E. Byrd (T-AKE 4) serves as the enabling platform for Pacific Partnership. 

                                       

    CAPT Ludington installs individual slow sand filter system in hospital kitchen and primary school.  There are 15 filter units donated through PP2009 for use in Tonga.
